Welcome to this quiet corner of the world, nestled amongst the verdant woodlands, rolling hills and wildflower meadows. Wild Cottage Works is a place where art, nature and everyday life meet, a space shaped by the landscapes that surround us and the stories they hold.

Here you will find a variety of nature inspired works and products, the process in the studio and reflections on seasonal living. ‍

Hello there,

ABOUT WILD COTTAGE WORKS

Wild Cottage Works began as a creative practice shaped by the landscapes and seasons of the countryside. What started as painting and observing the natural world has gradually grown into something bigger. The studio creates nature inspired artwork and thoughtfully designed pieces for the home. These are tangible expressions of the landscapes, textures and quiet moments found outdoors. They have been crafted to bring a part of nature and that sense of calm and connection into your home.

But Wild Cottage Works is more than just the products themselves. Alongside the artwork is a growing journal that shares the ideas and experiences behind the work. Here you will find reflections on seasonal living such as simple hedgerow foraging, creative processes, and tangible ways to connect with the natural world. In our Little Roots section you will also be able to find ways to encourage little ones to embrace all that nature has to offer and creative activities for both indoors and out.

At its heart, Wild Cottage Works is about reconnecting with the ever changing rhythm of the seasons and finding moments to step away from everyday life and slow down, even if just for a few minutes. This is not about an idealised rural life, but about showing that the benefits of nature can be found wherever we are. Whether you live in the countryside, a town or a busy city, there are always small ways to step outside, slow down and connect with nature and the changing seasons. For those days when we are stuck indoors, the connection doesn’t have to stop. Simple things like slowing down to make food with seasonal ingredients, pausing to notice the change in sunlight and weather, looking at an art piece that reflects the outdoors, can be small ways of staying connected to the natural world. Wild Cottage Works exists as a quiet reminder that creativity, nature and everyday life are closely connected and that even the smallest moments outdoors can shape the way we live, create and feel at home.‍ ‍

ABOUT THE ARTIST

I’m Halimah, the owner and artist at Wild Cottage Works. I was raised in South Wales and currently live in Shropshire. It is from my home town that my love for nature began.

My love for art and craft began as a child, it was all I wanted to do, and I would take a large box of colouring pencils wherever I went. I couldn’t sit still without keeping my hands busy with some sort of craft and I wanted to try it all. My background is in science and medicine but after some life-changing events, I changed direction towards art. I spent the next few years self-learning combined with some focused study in a variety of creative practices. Later I also ran workshops, sharing the process and enjoyment of art with others.

Nature has been a lifeline for me since childhood and through some difficult periods of my life. And art was the perfect outlet. The combination of the two eventually led to Wild Cottage Works. In many ways it is my love letter to nature.

Whether you arrive here through the artwork and products, the stories in the journal or simply a shared appreciation for nature, you are very welcome. I hope this space offers small moments of calm, a place to pause, take a breath and reconnect with the quiet beauty that surrounds us.

With warmth,

Halimah
